He also intensively studied composition, orchestral conducting, improvisation, and continuo, as well as several years of Philosophy in Salamanca University, one year master on pedagogy in Barcelona University as well as numerous curses on theater, voice, body expression and general arts. Mr. Ramirez has premiered and recorded works by modern composers in several festivals, has conducted research for Spanish early 20th century choir repertoire, for 2 years performed continuo at the former Escorial baroque Orchestra in Madrid and for 3 years he hold the position as titular organist in Barcelona Main Basilica. His first recording world-wide distributed by the label Brilliant Classics -including works by Liszt- was praised by the critics with statements such as: “This is an ‘Ad nos’ to remember” and “really takes one’s breath away”. His second world-wide recording on the same label include works for piano and organ duets recorded with Mr. Ramírez´s wife Maria Teresa Sierra on the piano including several works that will be featured in this same Summer Festival in August 27th.

From 2018, Mr. Ramírez is the 8th San Diego Civic Organist in 103 years of history as well as Artistic Director for the Spreckels Organ Society, a position he won by unanimity of the search committee and the majority of the audience.
